Safe Schools: Violence Prevention Programs: Anti-Bullying Today's broadcast will feature two different presenters discussing two separate violence prevention initiatives. One of the presentations will be on the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. Specific topics that will be addressed include: training for committee members and staff; development of a coordinated system of supervision; adoption of school-wide rules against bullying; development of appropriate positive and negative consequences for students' behavior; involvement of parents. The other presentation will address Second Step: A Violence Prevention Curriculum The award-winning Second Step program teaches social and emotional skills for violence prevention.
