Safe Schools: United We Stand This will be the first of a monthly series of Wisconsin School Crisis Preparedness "Best Practice Series" webcasts. Participants will learn: The value of collaborative partnerships and current trends of school safety. A team approach to pervention, preparation, response and recovery will promise student safety, higher academic achievement and parental reassurance. Current trends of shcool violence - fact vs. fiction. Low cost best practice ideas in maintaining a safe school environment. The Four Pillars of School Safety - A strong link with 911 responders; staff education and training; the gift of intuition; and the power of student partnerships. The educational programs will be completed as a partnership between DPI, OJA, DHFS, Wisconsin Emergency Management, and the Center for Emergency Health and Safety in Schools.
